i think that some of the reasons professional athletes stay in the game is to make more money. I also think it is to be remembered as one of the greats to play the game. some of the cons are it hurts there body over time. Another con is it can give you life long injuries. Another reason they stay in the game is to break records and be remembered forever
ReplyDeleteI think the reason most sports players retire at a young age because its a higher chance to get an injury. Like when your sitting at a desk and not getting hurt its easier to retire at an older age. When your getting tackled and getting slower its hard to keep playing the game. I think there doing it to kinda play it safe so nothing bad happens.
ReplyDeletei agree with you because it is easier to work longer when your not taking constant abuse to your body
DeleteI agree that it is better to retire when you are younger. Older people do get injuries more, but they do get more money over time. I believe you were correct in the way you put older people getting injuries more at a football game, but when your at a desk its hard to get an injury. I personally think it is a pretty good paragraph.
DeleteSome pros are that they can get more money by staying in.Some times though an old person can get severally hurt by the other athletes and can probably die.
ReplyDeleteI have wondered about athletes ending their career early. I believe that they retire because they think they have enough money to live the rest of their life. When people play in older ages, they can get easier injuries, but they can make more money. If you try to stay playing sports longer, you can get injuries that could last longer than if you had stopped when you were younger.I believe its safer to retire when your younger or you could get a serious injury.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because an older person's body cant take as much stress as a younger person's body.
DeleteThe reason why professional athletes tend to retire from their sports at relatively young ages because they are getting millions of dollars for a number of seasons they play. Some only play for 2 seasons and get over 5 million dollars. That is only 2 years of the NFL. The con is if you break your contract they do not pay you. Also if you get hurt they will not pay you. They will put you open in the free agent that means any team can pick you up but you don't have to pay until you sign a contract.
ReplyDeleteThat would suck to get injured and not be able to finish your contract and lose all that money.
DeleteThe pros and cons of being a pro athlete at a older age
ReplyDeletepros: you would have more years of experience
cons: when your older your bones will be more fragile and you won't be as good as when you was younger.
PROS
ReplyDeleteThe pro's for an athlete staying in the game is to help the team so they can win their games. Its good because the person has big fans and there fans would like to see them. Sometimes its good to retire because you don't want to be older and your bones are fragile at an older age so you don't want that to happen.
CONS
Con are if you're old and you're still in the game some people will make fun of you, because your old and trying to make a touchdown looking old!
i agree with your explanation because if your old and still trying to play people/social media will talk about you
DeleteThe Pros of staying in a sport until your are in your 30's is that you played something and you stuck with it pretty much your entire life. You will also be known for sticking with that sport. The Cons of staying in the game when you are older is that you can get hurt easier. You won't be noticed as much as a 25 year old that's already famous. You won't get as much recognition as they would usually unless you like broke like 20 world records.
ReplyDeleteI believe that if someone were to keep playing a sport at an older age there be many benefits and risks. As they keep playing they continue to receive their enormous paychecks. They also would receive some love for staying in the game for so long. Even with these benefits there would be risks. It would be much easier for an older athlete to break a bone or get injured, than it would be for a younger athlete.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because older bones are more fragile but then again if they are amazing athletes their bones will still be pretty strong.
Deletethe pros of the early retiring athletes are they have money so they don't need to play anymore.the cons are everyone will want to be around them for the money they don't make anymore money unless they get shoes made or signs with a company to make a product. more cons of retiring early in a athletic sport is that you have to manage your money right because u could go bankrupt and be retired and not able to make more money.
ReplyDeleteWell there are some pros and some cons for over aged people to continue to play sports. One of the pros is that there more experienced and then know more of the rules.Another pro is that they make a ton of money.Theres also cons like if there older they can get more injuries and sprains that could put them out of the game. Another con is that there not going to be as strong then when they where in their prime so they can't play their best.
ReplyDeletei agree with u because if ur older and still try to play u wold be more fragile and weaker
DeletePros
ReplyDeleteIts good to stay active in your elderly years because it can help you live a longer life. It can help keep you healthy and at a good weight for your age. Also it can benefit you greatly in the long run.
Cons
If you don't stay active then you could end up getting sick. Your muscles and bones will get really weak and you can break something easier than if you were active.
I agree with you. I think you have good evidence to why and why not you should retire later.
Deletei agree with your cons, and pros, good job
DeleteI agree with you because those are good reasons for both pros and cons. It can benefit you in the long run and your body will get weak and brittle.
DeleteThere are many pros and cons of older athletes staying in the game. Some pros is that you can still enjoy the sport and be part of the team.If you retire, you're no longer apart of the team. Staying in the game also keeps you fit and healthy. Some cons of not retiring is, the younger athletes will be better than you and have more endurance. You will also get tired more easily.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that those are some pros and cons, but if they stay in the sport longer i believe they will get bruises more, but you can also make more money
DeleteI believe that NFL players like to stay in the game even after retirement age because they are wise and have been through just about everything in the book, they know the ins and outs, so they will have more of an insight of what's going on. Knowing is half the battle and strategy is an essential quantity for these old athletes. I also believe that younger players retire to save themselves from serious or even fatal injury. Most impactful injuries come at the highest peak in their career and it's devastating to receive a broken shin or spine just before retiring and probably being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
ReplyDeleteIf your asking me the pros and cons of older athletes staying in the game then i suppose i can give you the answers. If you were making lets say five hundred thousand to a million a year wouldn't you stay in the game(Personally i would)? The experience that comes with age also really helps turn the tides in a game since they know how to read movements and do in rare situations that have occurred before.Though when you get older your body starts to wear down and you can't recover from hits especially in sports like football one hit could knock you out of the season even in your prime imagine what could happen when your older. Also on top of that you won't be able to keep up with the other players. In the end of it all if its a personal depending on if you want to take the risk for more of a reward or play it safe and call it quits before something happens.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, because having permeant injuries is not worth five hundred thousand to a million a year and that's just my opinion. Old players know when it's time to go and that's when they are in pain or they are too slow. If they do stay he just going to slow the team down.
DeleteA pro of staying on the field is being experinced. A con for staying on the field is being older at times when u get older u happen to be slower or not able to be as good as use to be. another pro is having that more time could make them to be a better player, and a con is could be weaker or get hurt more easliy...
ReplyDeleteYes, I have wondered why professional athletes' tend to retire from their sports at relatively young ages. Some of the pros of older athletes' staying in the game, is that they will stay more fit for a longer amount of time and might be able to live longer, since they are doing exercise daily for a few extra years than just retiring at 35 years of age. Some of the cons of older athletes' staying in the game, is that if they play their sport for too long, they might start to get hurt with their body because of older age playing a difficult and energetic sport or game. Also, they could start to have problems with the back, knee, leg, arm, etc. There are many pros and cons for older athletes' staying in the game.
ReplyDeleteA pros of retiring at a young age is that you have money so you really don't need to play anymore.A con is that your might run out of money in couple of years if you waste it all. A pro for staying in the game is that you will still make money and you become a hall of famed.A con about still being in the game is that you could get hurt easily because you are old.I think that people should retire at the age 40
ReplyDeleteI think professional athletes tend to retire from their sports at relatively young ages because they are getting old. If a professional athlete stay in the game he/she would be too slow or too weak. Sports these days are very tough on nomad people's bodies. Can you imagine what it is doing to their body? I am surprise they didn't leave sooner.
ReplyDeleteI agree because an old person can start to lose body strength, but you can become lean if you are fat.
DeleteThe pro to not being retire from a sport around 35 is that you can keep making money and doing what you love at a later age and still going. The Cons to still being an athlete at older age is that your really busy and you dont have that much time with your family, because your always trying to keep your head in the game and you cant really focus on the family if you have your head in the game. And also if you get injured its going to take your bones/muscles to heal longer compared to a younger player.
ReplyDeleteSome pros are that they can get more money by staying in.Some times though an old person can get severally hurt by the other athletes and can probably die.
